I remember Dean living in my home in Fresno Ca. for 3-5 days or so. I just discovered a picture of
him inscribed to my parents, with a warm loving note on the back of the photo.
Dean met my parents because he was playing at the El Rancho in Fresno. My father was a union musician and played with many stars of the 40's there. He played the drums. We always had people from the venue over for dinner, and extended stays. The Ink Spots, The Andrew Sisters, and many more. Dean was one of the people my father got to know, and did stay with us for a time.

60S SIGNED PUBLICITY PHOTO DEAN REED PERSONAL NOTE RARE US $77.00 This is a genuine autographed photo of Dean Reed. This 8" by 10" glossy was given to my Parents by Dean after a stay at our house in the mid 60's. I was just starting High school, but I remember that he had a very special presence about him. I did not know about his views or his involvment in South American Politics. I thought that he was another singer that my dad played drums for. Now Tom Hanks has made, or is making a movie of his life. The text on the front reads "To Ernie and Betty, Love , Dean." On the back it says, "Dear Betty and Ernie, I want to thank you both for all your generosity, thoughtfullness, and friendship. I appreciate it very much. I sincerely hope that we will meet again sometime in the near future. Until then, I remain your good friend- Love Dean." The white spot in the photo is from the flash. the photo is in good condition, with only one corner bumped, aand a small bend in the bottom margin.
